From Darkness to Light

Hello people!
It really has been a while since I posted something here. And really a lot of things have happened in the past month. I moved to Aarhus, Denmark and I started studying Classical archaeology. Basically, I just spend a lot of time staring at pictures of really old vases. But, I love it! And something else happened: I participated in the Tamron TakeOff competition, got the chance to use some wild equipment by Tamron and actually got on 2nd place!

The series I shot is about a transition between darkness and light. I have to admit the series is a bit incomplete, as I had some trouble with the last picture. But, the judges did not mind that, I think. As some of you may have noticed, I sometimes try to express my depressive tendencies through photography, and this has been the main point in this series as well. The last years have been very rough and eventful, but I feel that I am still drawing closer to the light. I hope for a better future and that is what keeps me fighting, even though I struggle a lot. This series is about deliverance, liberation and finding your light. It is about facing your fears and going places you would never have gone before.

You can watch a video with the jury talking about the entries here (in German).

  1. Gelungene Bilderstrecke.
