New Design, New Concept!

Welcome back! I had to shut down the blog, in order to make some changes. You may have noticed three mayor changes: First of all I gave the entire blog a face-lift. Ever since I started blogging I created my own templates, not entirely from scratch, but I pretty much made it all myself. The problem is that I do not really know anything about web design, and everything I knew, I got from tutorials. So, I just put together a design with all the things I liked, and I always managed to get rid of problems in a way. But, now that most people visit my blog from mobile devices and the coding has become more complex, the problems just became to much to handle. The Blogger-navbar did not disappear, no matter what I tried, the blog had a long loading-time, because of all the useless code I copy-pasted at some point and forgot to remove for some reason. When Blogger released a new set of templates, I did not think about the change for a long time. This template has a lot more functions and I do not need to edit the HTML directly anymore..
This template will automatically adjust to your screen-size (something the old one failed to do), and it looks more beautiful on a phone as well. You can share posts directly after reading them, and the comment section works much better now as well.

I have been thinking about getting my own domain for a long time, especially because I have been wanting to build my own home page for a long time. Instead, I decided to give my blog a new domain, without the .blogspot ending. You may also have noticed something else: This blog is now called Lilian D. Photography, and that for a reason. In the beginning I was simply posting images from my conceptual projects here, but somehow that did not work. So, I started sharing my landscape and nature pictures here, and I can write down my thoughts here. My facebook-page went from Realize Photography to Lilian D. Photography a year ago (I think) and now I also want to make this change here. I will continue to post my conceptual and fine-art on Flickr and Facebook, but not on this blog or on Instagram. I will not use the Realize-logo and name anymore, even though I will not change the names (@lilianrealize and @realize_photo) of my Instagram and Flickr accounts. This is because if I change them, old tags and links stop working.

I hope you enjoy the new design. I would love to hear your opinion, so feel free to leave a comment below!

  1. Love the new design. Simple, but beautiful.
